Now once your in this full time hunger mode this triggers “THE INCREASED APPETITE MODE”. Since you are always hungry this leads you to think that the problem is that you are simply not eating enough. So mentally you reason that you simply should start eating more food to fix this hunger problem. This eating strategy at first seems to work! By eating more food your hunger does go away for about an hour. Then your brain figures out after all that eating you still are nutrient deficient. Then the brain just re-triggers the hunger switch. Now you are trapped in a never ending hunger mode forever and ever!
I discovered this hunger switch “turn off effect” by accident. When I started this plan I noticed that after a couple of weeks I could go 6-7 hours between eating the very healthy and nutritious meals. I even would forget to eat! Wow I have never been someone who FORGETS TO EAT! I am some one who usually is planning my next meal as I am eating my current one. Remember I am a full blown FOODIE! But, I didn’t really fully understand the hunger switch event until after eating the plan for a couple of months. At that point I did a “fast day” in accordance with my Christian faith. I had fasted many times before as many others do. But something very strange happened! As I fasted I noticed that I had NO HUNGER! Even after 24 hours. Then later when I fasted again on another day I also noticed the same no hunger effect even after I added a brisk 6 mile walk in addition to the fast. But the same thing happened,there was NO HUNGER! (but I still had plenty of energy to exercise and walk while fasting…that was a very strange sensation!)
Then a couple of weeks later I tried a 2 day fast. The same result happened, no hunger! Now remember, I started fasting only after eating the plan for about 60 days. At that point my body was 100% saturated with every nutrient, every anti oxidant and every micro nutrient that I could ever need.(THAT’S WHY YOU FEEL SO GOOD) Then it dawned on me that I really had turned off the so called HUNGER SWITCH.
So finally, I tried one last test, to see once and for all was this HUNGER SWITCH really turned off for real! I did a 3 day fast and I added a daily 9 mile walk each day.(that’s 27 miles in just 3 days) This would truly test this concept once and for all. But then I was kind of amazed! I STILL had NO HUNGER! How is it possible for a person to not eat for 3 days and nights and to walk 9 miles each day and afterword not be hungry? It’s simple, your hunger switch has been turned off. (note; having your hunger switch turned off does not mean you will not have low blood sugar levels. But remember low blood sugar and hunger are two completely different things. So yes after 3 days of not eating I did have low blood sugar levels but, without the usual accompanying hunger pains.)

You actually will crave HEALTHY FOODS! Some days I will feast all day on just the cold pot(will explain later), it has great flavors. You will not get tired or bored of eating these delicious healthy foods . I am a good cook (or so I have been told) I will show you how to make the BEST TASTING HEALTHY FOODS on planet earth! A very important part of this eating plan is FIXING THE FOOD RIGHT. I do it every day and I will show you how to also. Remember I don’t have a degree in nutrition but I do know how to cook.( it is kind of funny, most people you see promoting a diet will know a lot about nutrition but very little about cooking. You can’t fool people with taste no matter how foo foo you make it!)
Recently while on a trip to New York city my wife and i were able to eat at some really nice restaurants. I ordered some of their healthier items. Wow was I disappointed! While the food was healthy it was expensive and tasteless! It was almost like saying “If it is healthy it can’t taste good”. I suppose that the real problem is that very few chef’s actually have had any real experience cooking only super healthy foods.(which is understandable because as a society, hardly anyone actually eats this way)
A lot of Surprising Comments
I thought that the number one thing people would tell me after they started this eating this plan was how much weight they had lost! (and it usually averages from 1 lb. to 1 1/2 lbs per day! to start with, although results can vary.)
Instead, I was shocked to hear over and over again, the same unexpected comment which was “I just love eating this way, I love the way this food taste, I plan to keep eating this way forever.” Then they would tell me, “Oh, I almost forgot, I’ve lost a lot of weight too!”
People are shocked at how delicious and good this food tastes! Everyone is totally surprised that healthy food can taste great! Everyone assumes that it will be very hard to eat this way for any length of time. When I shared this plan with my doctor after being on it for just two weeks, he was amazed how my blood pressure had dropped to normal (remember I had only been on the plan for 2 weeks). For years he had been trying to get my blood pressure down with medicine (to no avail). I explained how I was now eating and he congratulated me but he warned me, and said….
“My only worry for you is that nobody can really eat the way your eating for very long, it will simply be to hard and unrealistic for anyone to do this”. Well that is one of the big myths about eating this way, until you do it, you won’t understand how easy it is to do. You will love eating this food day in and day out.

3. NO MORE FOOD CRAVINGS (see the sugar addiction later)
You will not have any food cravings. Not for sweets, carbs, meats, fats or munches of any kind. Your body will be completely nutrient satisfied. (which is the basis for all your cravings anyway) Your taste cravings will completely change. You will always remember how a piece of cake tasted but you will no longer crave it, at all. My favorite red meat dish was a succulent rack of lamb stuffed with garlic cloves. I would cook it to perfection! Medium rare smothered with a mint jelly, garlic butter glaze. Oh my goodness! It was to die for. I will never forget the exact taste and flavors of that dish, never ever. But now, I simply do not crave it at all. It is amazing, It is like you understand the addiction but you don’t have the addiction.
4. YOU WILL BE HEALTHIER THAN PERHAPS YOU HAVE EVER BEEN IN YOUR ENTIRE LIFE! The second most frequent comment I hear from people eating this way is… WOW, “I feel so good!”( I started to feel great on only my second day of the eating plan!) You will feel physically and mentally better than probably ever before. As I said earlier, all my health issues all went away. The only downside was that I ended up with over 40 pairs of pants that I could not wear.(I went from a 46 inch waist to a 33 inch waist in the first 120 days on this plan) Also, my pharmacist is not very happy with me, because I don’t ever see him anymore. I stopped taking all of those medications.(* remember deaths from just the side effects from taking all these medications is the #6 leading cause of death in this country, killing over 106,000 people each year. Please note, we are not talking about drug overdoses or errors writing out rx’s , just side effects alone.)
There are so many studies on how eating good fruits and vegetables slows and even reverses diseases as well as lengthens your life. Virtually all the leading causes of death can be stopped! or even reversed by eating a plant based diet. Even monkey’s who ate all vegetables lived 40% longer than the monkey’s who ate the normal american diet. Now that I eat this way I google new health studies virtually ever day and it really is overwhelming, the amount of well documented research that is available from all over the world.
A new study was recently released and had very serious health implications. It stated that over 41% of Americans will develop some form of cancer in their life time. It went on to state that over 90% of all these cancers will be caused by diet, lack of exercise and life style issues like smoking or excessive drinking.
Also, the CDC and The National Health Nutrition Examination Study just released, states that;
66.7% of Whites are overweight!
76.6% of Blacks are over weight!
78.8% of Hispanics are over weight! and these rates will keep on climbing!
A 2013 USA Today article states that nearly 80% of todays baby boomers will suffer from at least one chronic health condition and 50% suffer from two or more chronic health conditions. the CDC states that in this group over 70% have heart disease and over 60% have arthritis. It goes on to simple state, “people are just living sicker longer”.
Another great book to read is “THE KINGDOM OF THE SICK” by Laurie Edwards. She explains how we are becoming a nation of chronically ill people. In 2005, 133 million people in America had some kind of chronic illness and 7 out of 10 deaths were from chronic illness. These rates of illness just keep on climbing! Yes! we are becoming a nation of SICK PEOPLE who keep living longer because of medical advancements but we are only living sicker longer!
America has always worried about being taken over by some hostile force like “Russia or China”. But America is being destroyed from within. We are literally eating ourselves to death. We are becoming a nation of sick people that keeps taking more and more drugs and our numbers of sick unhealthy citizens keeps on growing at an astonishing rate. How strong can a country really be when in the end most of its people are obese and sick? Our greatest security threat is coming from within.
My favorite web site is “NutritionFacts.org” by Dr. Greger. Dr. Greger came up with a beautiful and simple idea! What if someone read thru the over 6,000-7,000 health studies that are done each year around the world by all the universities and research centers. That is just what Dr. Greger has done. Then he makes an easy to understand 2-5 minute video on a particular study that ordinary lay people can view. So therefore we can get great late breaking health news that is quick and easy to comprehend. Dr. Greger does about one new video every day. Also you can access any of his previous videos (over 1500) any time you want.
A good example of what Dr. Gregers does is a recent video he did called the ” Antioxidant of 3,139 Foods”.
This is a 4 minute video about the latest most sophisticated study to date on the antioxidant levels of over 3,139 foods. This study was done by The Holst Foundation, The Research Council of Norway and The Norwegian Cancer Society. The study went on for 8 years, 138 pages long and had hundreds of researchers give antioxidant ratings for just about every food known to man. Now who has time to read a study like this, especially since it was written with a lot of technical scientific jargon? Also, remember this is just one study of over 6,000 studies done last year alone. These is why I recommend Dr. Gregers web site. I’ve got 4 minutes to spare hearing about this, but who has a week to spend studying this one report?
Since the amount of new health information in todays world is so overwhelming most of us will completely miss it altogether. it’s just to much information! we live in a world of “information overload!” Remember we now are discovering health information faster than all the rest of history combined. In just the last few decades researchers have isolated over 25,000 new phyto-nutrients and counting, WOW!
The other day I was in my local grocery store shopping for dinner. I noticed that when you walk into the store the first thing you encounter is piled high display tables full of cakes, brownies, cookies and assorted pies. Then you come to the deli section with all the processed meats and cheeses. Next is the very long bread, doughnuts and pastry shelves. The next isle is the what I call the “candy in the form of cereal section”. Then the next isle is the breakfast “candy” bar section followed by all the pudding and cake mixes. Oh, and lets not forget the next isle, where you find all the lard, crisco, oils and bags of sugar and white flour. At the far end of the store is the “sugar soda” isle combined with all the chips and snacks. Ah, then you come to the frozen food isles. First is the the very lengthy frozen pizza section and next is the very long ice cream isle. Oh, I forgot to mention in the back corner of the store is a somewhat smaller section of fresh fruits and vegetables.
I noticed a funny thing when I was in the store. First, I counted the people shopping like me and was amazed to discover that there were 26 over weight shoppers and just 3 normal weight people. I also found that when I first walked into the store where all the cakes, brownies and cookies are piled, there is always a few overweight shoppers who are standing in front of these tables and seem to be in deep thought trying to figure out which sweet thing to buy. I also notice the there was never a shopper in deep thought standing in front of the broccoli section.
As a society we are engrossed in the habit of eating bad things. We have so many different kinds of unhealthy foods to select from that it really is mentally overwhelming to a shopper. We are bombarded by tv commercials trying to sell us more and more bad fast food. Our country is actually eating itself to death. A very slow painful death designed to keep us alive for as long as possible therefore making us use the maximum amount of drugs and health care until we finally die. This simple formula is what is making the huge corporations supplying all this bad food and drugs to us lots and lots of MONEY! We all get to die a slow and painful death while others make a bunch of money on our sick suffering lives and the big corporations will simply say that we did this to ourselves… And their right, we did! America is in decline not by A foreign power, but from an enemy from within. We are doing this to ourselves and most people are not really aware of it.
When are great country was founded we ate 1/18th the amount of daily sugar as we do now. In 1822 the average american ate the equivalent amount of sugar of 1/2 can of soda per week. We now consume 18 times as much sugar every day. This sugar consumption rate is rising yearly with no end in site.
Wow, Americans are about 70% overweight and almost 1/2 of everyone in our country will get cancer! and the rate of this will keep on climbing! (not to mention all the other diseases)
But these statistics can be reversed! JUST EAT RIGHT AND EXERCISE!
MOST DIETS OUT TODAY MAY LET YOU TEMPORARILY LOSE WEIGHT BUT ARE NOT GOING TO GIVE YOU THE ABSOLUTE BEST NUTRITIONAL WAY OF EATING.( with the possible exception of a strict Vegan plan)
MOST DIETS ARE MAINLY CONCERNED WITH JUST LOSING WEIGHT! NOT GIVING YOU THE HEALTHIEST POSSIBLE WAY TO EAT! (they also fail because they never break the sugar, carb and fat addiction, read about in The Sugar Addiction)
I remember watching an episode of the “Doctor Oz TV show” where all the audience members were tested for their antioxidant levels. Wow, almost all the women had very low antioxidant levels!
But, A good portion of these ladies were not overweight!
A lot of people are thin to normal weight wise, but very nutritionally deficient!
These people just eat a lot less than most of us but still eat all the wrong foods!

So they give me some kind of will power extra credit for eating this way that I don’t really deserve. The truth is, this eating plan (if followed exactly) is very easy to maintain and live by.
Your friends will say,” you have such great will power and discipline”, but the fact is this plan doesn’t require much will power or discipline, that’s just the hard core truth of it. But go ahead and enjoy the compliments anyway, because unless you try this plan you won’t be able to understand how easy it is to follow.

I have a good friend who was very over weight and suffered from depression and constant high low mood swings. He started this eating plan and of course he had great weight loss immediately. But his greatest joy came from losing his depression and mood swings.
Researchers now know that in many of these very healthy fruits, beans, nuts and vegetables is the hormone called serotonin. Serotonin is very important for your health. Serotonin controls your moods, depression, appetite and sleep.

I used to force myself to take a 30 minute walk after work each day. But then, after eating this plan a funny thing happened! I started to feel like exercising!
