Start with 1 low carb, high fiber, whole wheat flour tortilla. (12 grams of fiber)

spread 1 tablespoon any flavored hummus over tortilla. (1 gram of fiber)

spread 1 tablespoon avocado over tortilla. (1 ram of fiber)

layer 1/2 cup quartered artichoke hearts(packed in brine) over tortilla. (7.29 grams of fiber)

sprinkle 1/2 cup red or black cooked beans over tortilla. (7.5 grams of fiber)

sprinkle 1/2 cup broccoli slaw over tortilla. (2.6 grams of fiber)

sprinkle 1/2 cup chopped onions over tortilla. (1.4 grams of fiber)

sprinkle 1/2 cup raspberries over tortilla. (5 grams of fiber)

sprinkle 1/2 cup cooked peas over tortilla. (8.15 grams of fiber)

and last sprinkle 1/4 cup sliced almonds over tortilla. (1.5 grams of fiber)

season like the basic power wrap or to taste. Remember you will also get fiber from the dried parsley, oregano, basil, poultry seasoning and even the garlic powder.(3+ grams of fiber from these herbs and spices)

 

Total fiber per wrap = an amazing 50.44 grams of fiber!

add some hot sauce( if you like the kick), chopped yellow bell pepper, dried thyme and broccoli slaw. ( kale is also great in vitamin c)

 

for Vitamin E

add sunflower seeds, sliced almonds.( paprika, chopped peanuts, dried basil and dried oregano also are great vitamin c that we already have added to the wrap)

 

for Beta Carotene

add shredded carrots, mustard greens. (spinach, kale and turnip greens are great in beta carotene that we already are using)

note; You can also pre-cook in a large pot most of these ingredients and simply place on your wrap when ready. Pre-cooking will reduce your wrap volume a little but make your wrap full of these power house nutrients.

12. The Allergy buster wrap

 

I used to have the “worst Allergies”. I had a post nasal drip year round and would be clearing my cough reflex every few minutes every day. Then when I started eating all these healthy vegetables my allergies vanished! I was very puzzled and discovered the reason my allergies disappeared was from eating all the natural antihistamines in the vegetables and fruit I was now eating.

 

I used to take all kinds of allergy medicine year round. Now all my allergies are completely gone and I take no allergy medicine at all, ever!

 

To get rid of most allergies you need to eat high vitamin c foods, high flavonoid foods and high omega 3 fatty acid foods. Flavonoids can have Quercetin which stabilize mast cells to prevent the manufacture of histamines.

Take 1 low carb, high fiber, whole wheat flour tortilla.

 

spread 1 tablespoon of your favorite hummus.(the olive oil in this protects against wrinkles and U V rays)

 

sprinkle dried oregano, dried basil over wrap(has good vitamin A that reduces skin cancer)

sprinkle dried parsley and dried thyme over wrap.( has good vitamin C keeps collagen production up and keeps skin firm)

 

sprinkle non sweet cocoa powder over wrap.( improves skin texture and resists bad U V rays)

 

sprinkle ground flax seeds over wrap. ( has good omega 3’s and lowers skin cancer and skin wrinkling and roughness of skin)

 

sprinkle 1 tablespoon of sunflower kernels and some chopped brazil nuts. ( these are high in selenium which protects skin against sun damage)

 

add some chopped red bell pepper, shredded carrots and baby kale over wrap (these are also high in vitamin A)

Take 1 whole wheat, high fiber low carb flour tortilla. Spread with 1 tablespoon hummus.

 

*note; For years researchers have highly suspected that the nightshade family of vegetables have caused painful arthritis in people. These include tomatoes, eggplant, all peppers (except black pepper) and potatoes.(this also includes paprika, tabasco, yellow mustard, garlic chili powder, old bay seasoning and red pepper flakes) If you suffer from arthritis try laying off these vegetables for 1 month and note any changes. It may help. If you google “nightshade vegetables and arthritis” you will get over 38,000 sites and studies on this going back to the late 60’s..

 

sprinkle over tortilla

1 tablespoon soy nuts

1 chopped brazil nut. ( these have 3,485% dv of selenium which tests show fights arthritis)

1 tablespoon ground flax seeds

1 tablespoon chopped garlic

4 quartered artichoke hearts (packed in water)

1/4 broccoli slaw (high in vitamin c)

1 teaspoon dried thyme and parsley ( great vitamin c and is a major component of cartilage )

1 teaspoon turmeric (these spices are great anti inflammatories)

1 teaspoon ground ginger

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon ( a good anti-inflammatory)

1 teaspoon cocoa powder ( non sweet) a good anti-inflammatory

1 teaspoon cardamon

1 teaspoon ground black pepper ( this has piperine , which fights arthritis)

1 teaspoon turmeric ( also a good anti-inflammatory)

1/3 cup red or black beans

1/3 cup chopped yellow onion

baby kale leaves (high vitamin c)

baby spinach leaves

 

season like your basic power wrap.

 

For some heat use horseradish instead of tabasco or red pepper.

 

note; The nightshade vegetables may affect your arthritis but these vegetables are not bad vegetables. They are very good vegetables that may contribute to our less than perfect health situation. Example; I am genetically prone to getting “gout”. I take a daily anti gout pill for this. If I did not I would not be able to eat a lot of healthy vegetables like mushrooms, asparagus, cauliflower and spinach.

My body causes the formation of uric acid (a great antioxidant found in these vegetables ) to become uric acid crystals in my big toe joint. This is very crippling and painful. But… it is not these vegetables that are at fault. Instead it is my own genetic defect that is the culprit. Luckily this disease is easily treatable and I enjoy all of these great vegetables all the time.

So don’t blame the vegetables if you have developed an illness for some other reasons. Simply work around the situation with whatever works for you. Oh and yes I personally avoid all the healthy great tasting nightshade vegetables 95% of the time.

 

15. The Anti Depression Wrap

 

Take 1 whole wheat, high fiber low carb flour tortilla. Spread with 1 tablespoon hummus.

 

sprinkle over tortilla

1 teaspoon cocoa powder non sweet 70%.( good tryptophan levels)

1 teaspoon sesame seeds

1 tablespoon soy nuts

1 tablespoon chopped peanuts

1 table spoon chopped black walnuts ( has 304 micrograms of serotonin per gram)

1 tablespoon ground flax seeds(has vitamin b-6 thats lets your body synthesize the neurotransmitters serotonin  and dopamine) flax also has good levels of tryptophan that causes greater absorption of serotonin into the brain. Always eat high serotonin vegetables with high tryptophan foods!

1 teaspoon sunflower kernels

 

then add;

sliced tomato ( has high serotonin levels at 221 micrograms per gram)

spinach leaves

broccoli slaw

1 sliced brussels sprout

2 tablespoons of red or black beans
